About Davis

Davis Winstead has been the Ground Director and Adventure Camp Director at Cedar Crest since 2016. He is passionate about outdoor recreation and working with his hands. He lives at Cedar Crest with his delightful wife, Leslie, and two dogs, Indigo and Lai Fu.

About Russell

Russell Casteel has been with Cedar Crest since 2013, now serving as the Executive Director of Conference Camping Ministry in addition to his role as Director at Cedar Crest.  Russell is a graduate of Mississippi State University as well as Candler School of Theology at Emory University. As a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, he has over 20 years of experience in camping ministry and is certified in Camp/Retreat Ministry in the United Methodist Church. He is passionate about helping to create places where others can experience God, grow in their faith, and connect with God’s creation. Russell is married to Callie, who is a graduate of The University of the South (Sewanee) and has a Master’s degree from the University of Mississippi. Callie is the Marketing Services Coordinator for A Greener World. They have two children, Brown and Flora.

About Audrey

Audrey Jordan is our Program Director. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and a graduate of Sewanee School of Theology with a Master of Arts in Religion and the Environment. Audrey has over ten years of experience in United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries. 
Audrey is really excited about making connections with children, youth, and families, as well as camp counselors. Seeing others discover the joys of being present in the world around them is one of Audrey's favorite things.
Audrey enjoys a good story, taking a walk with her dog Sirius, cheering on Liverpool with her husband Will, and all things Parks and Rec.

About Tate

Tate Kinney is our Assistant Maintenance Director. Tate has 6 years of camp and retreat experience. He joined the Cedar Crest community in 2017 first serving in a seasonal kitchen role. He loves woodworking, foraging mushrooms, and stargazing around camp.

About Becky

Becky Kilian is the  Director of Culinary Services at Cedar Crest. She began work as a dishwasher at Cedar Crest in 2013 and currently serves as our Director of Culinary Services. Becky has taught workshops about culture and hospitality for United Methodist Camp Retreat Ministries and currently serves on the planning committee for South Eastern Jurisdiction. Her passion is experiencing different cultures and then relating that love in the food that she prepares for our campers and guests. Becky lives on a farm with her husband. She has five children, Chris, Riley, Sam, Bailey and Robin, daughter in law Angie, son in law Tanner and 3 gran-blessings Rosie, Maddox and Daylen. She loves gardening, herbs, foraging, travel, reading, all beaches, and sharing information about anything- it’s the best way to learn!

About Phil

Phil Salter is our Environmental Education Director here at Cedar Crest. He is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and Drew University Theological School in Madison, NJ. He is a licensed educator and has over a decade of camping and education experience with children and youth and believes in experiential education for learners of all ages. Phil is interested in linking our affinities and connections to the world around us with practical avenues towards justice and community relationships. He has served on the board for the Tennessee Environmental Education Association. Phil loves to seek out the small things creeping along the trails, enjoys watching films, and is a strong advocate of breakfast for all meals.

About Caleb

Caleb Purdue is currently serving as Cedar Crest Camp’s Discernment Intern. Growing up, Caleb was a long-time camper at Cedar Crest and has now spent the last 3 summers as a member of camp’s summer staff, once as a counselor and twice as Waterfront Director. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in Spring 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre; minors in Trumpet Performance, Vocal Performance, and Appalachian Studies; a certificate in Musical Theatre; and a medallion signifying completion of all Lewis Honors College requirements. Caleb is extremely excited to be working at Cedar Crest for a full year and hopes he can use his position to help build a path towards more successful summers to come, as he plans to do all he can to provide future campers and counselors alike the same types of deeply meaningful and truly transformative experiences that he has been met with through his years at camp. In his free time, you may find Caleb hiking around, running, singing at the top of his lungs, dancing whenever and wherever there is music, playing his trumpet or the piano, or kicking back and enjoying some video games.

About Madison

Madison Causey is the Media Intern at Cedar Crest. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. She was a counselor from 2021-2023 and is very excited to be at Cedar Crest year-round! Madison is an avid fan of Taylor Swift, and her favorite album is Reputation. She loves collecting vinyl, iced coffee with oat milk, and Celsius energy drinks.
